About Our Market

Christmas On The Bay

in the heart of charming historic Meaford

Let's Get Festive

Christmas On The BayTM is a traditional outdoor European-style Christmas Market… but with a twist. Just like the very best outdoor Christmas markets, Christmas On the BayTM provides all the festive lights, sounds, smells, experiences, and ambiance you would expect to put you into the perfect festive spirit. Among the wooden kiosks you will find we have assembled the labours of love of Meaford and South Georgian Bay’s finest artisans, offering you an inspiring selection of locally produced and crafted foods, beverages, and wares just in time for Christmas. You are certain to find something for all your friends and family….. even Fido. But Christmas On the BayTM is also something more. It is also a celebration of Community, Inclusion and Diversity, a place where everyone feels welcomed and cherished. It is also a celebration of Meaford and Southern Georgian Bay, where our own traditions and customs, young and old, are put on display and shared with our treasured guests, making our outdoor Christmas market unique in the world. Prepare to be enchanted…

Who We Are

We are a group of Meafordites, all volunteer, who had a vision to invite the community to engage in a magical event celebrating our municipality, South Georgian Bay, and the festive time of year.

We wanted to offer something unique to the area that would include community groups, local shops and restaurants, talented artisans from near and afield, all entertaining and fêting the spirit of the season. It is not just a market – it is a celebration of us all.

But how can such a small place do something so large, you ask? We harnessed the diverse abilities of our volunteers and combined our efforts to seek out sponsors to totally fund the costs associated with Christmas On The BayTM – their generosity and enthusiasm have been amazing!

We are grateful for the community’s support and are excited for the results.
